Everyone is invited to SHOP SMALL on Small Business Saturday on Saturday, November 29th in Grove City, PA!
Did you know when you purchase locally more money is kept within your community? More money staying local means keeping low prices and increasing jobs. For every one dollar spent locally, 73 cents stays in the community. But, if you shop at non-local companies, only 43 cents stays in the community. However, it is even worse if you make purchases online. While convenient for the shopper, their dollars spent have no local impact at all.
The Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce is heading up an effort to get people out to shop locally on Small Business Saturday. This will take place on Saturday, November 29, 2014. People in the community are encouraged to buy from small businesses that are locally owned in an attempt to make a positive impact on their community.
This year, the Grove City Chamber is partnering with Armstrong to not only get the word out about the event, but also with the Chamber’s annual giveaway for this special day. Anyone who spends at least $100 in locally owned small businesses on Saturday, November 29th, can bring their receipts to the Chamber office at 119 South Broad Street, Grove City, PA from December 1-5, 2014 and be entered into a drawing. One of those entries will be drawn and that person will win a $100 prepaid gift card courtesy of Armstrong.
New this year, the Chamber has organized drawings in twenty-five different businesses for $25 prepaid gift cards courtesy of American Express. Drawings are being held at the following locations: Aey Plus Flooring, Agway, ASA Fashions, beans on broad, b’gifted, BoBo Rice Bowl, Broad Street Grille, Burdick’s Men’s Clothing, Canine Confections, Coffaro’s, Crimson Connection, D’licious Bouquets, Dream Maker Mattress, George J. Howe Co. (Retail Store), Jordan’s Restaurant and Pizzeria, Kritter Kreations, Main Street Diner, Music Depot, Natural Options, Nonni’s Corner Trattoria, Rx Xpress Pharmacy, Saxony House Furniture, Shannon’s Kandy Kitchen, Wendell August, and Wolfcreek Yarns.
All locally owned small businesses are invited to be part of Small Business Saturday. Many small businesses will have decals and posters on display that were supplied by American Express. These decals and posters will help to identify the business as a participant so shoppers will know who to target on November 29th. Small Businesses who participate are also encouraged to have special sales or deals for the day to encourage customers to do business with them. Questions can be directed to the Grove City Chamber at 724-458-6410.
