Give Back Thursday: Make Fall Decorations for Others
Chamber- Give Back Thursday

On Thursdays we offer suggestions of ways people can give back in the local community. Giving back and doing good for others is important, so we like to give lots of ideas for people to choose from. This week’s Give Back Thursday idea is to Make Fall Decorations for Others. Read on for more details and who we think might really appreciate these decorations!

The past seven months have been difficult for everyone as we navigate through a pandemic and try to stay healthy and safe. We may have found new hobbies and developed new skills during these recent months with more time on our hands. No doubt you have found yourself trying something new or feeling the desire to start a project. Hopefully you have found yourself wanting to be kind to those around you and do nice things for others.

A Way to Give Back

For this week’s Give Back Thursday, we suggest Making Fall Decorations for Others! This can combine your desire to start a project, be a useful way to spend time and creativity, and you can do something nice for others. We suggest making Fall decorations, like leaves, pumpkins and apples, out of colorful paper. Then, you can mail these paper decorations to our local nursing homes! The residents and staff would love to see your hand-crafted decorations. This could certainly brighten their day and help them decorate for the season.

Our nursing homes have had an especially tough time during these recent months. A small gesture like making Fall decorations could have a big impact on the people who get to see them. You don’t have to be an artist, anyone can take part in this craft! Grab the kids and let them have fun with this project too! Sometimes, decorations made by children can garner the biggest smiles and enjoyment!
