Give Back Thursday: Local New Years Resolution
Chamber- Give Back Thursday

Every Thursday we like to offer an idea of how people can give back in the community. This week’s Give Back Thursday idea is to Include Local Businesses and Nonprofits in Your New Years Resolutions! Read on for more details.

It is a tale as old as time, people make New Years resolutions and make attempts at keeping them…at least until a certain point. Often people make impossible resolutions or ones that are really tough to keep. A better approach would be to make resolutions that you are more likely to keep and that have a bigger purpose. We think we have the perfect idea!

Make meaningful resolutions this year

For this week’s Give Back Thursday, we suggest you Include Local Businesses and Nonprofits in Your New Years Resolutions! While you may feel as though you already support local businesses and nonprofits, can you say you do so regularly? Do you make a concerted effort to spend your dollars locally in your own community, or do you often go elsewhere to purchase things? Local businesses and nonprofits are the cornerstone of our communities. They employ our friends, neighbors and family members. Often they are owned by someone you know. Local businesses and nonprofits often are the first ones to respond to a community need with whatever they can do.

Now is your chance to help give back to our local businesses and nonprofits. Include regularly supporting them in your resolutions this New Year. This is a resolution you can keep and that will make a difference. Your support could make the difference in whether doors remain open in 2021, so consider how you can make this a part of your regular routine. Whether you plan to eat out at local restaurants a certain number of times a week or month, or plan to purchase locally with regularity, you will have an impact on your community.
