Armstrong Conducts Avenge Hunger Month
Grove City, PA – September is Hunger Action Month, a national focus on helping to fight hunger and food insecurity. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) defines food insecurity as a lack of consistent access to food for an active, healthy life. In Pennsylvania, one in eight people struggle with hunger, and one in six are children. Armstrong will conduct Avenge Hunger Month during the month of September. The goal is to help create an awareness for the need and provide resources to help reduce the need. Avenge Hunger Month is an extension of Armstrong’s Breaking Bread initiative that began in 2009 to provide resources for food pantries, soup kitchens and other social services. These resources include monetary donations and non-perishable food.
Armstrong will enlist the help of the community through the following events:
Lake Latonka Fall Fest, Saturday September 8th 9-4 at Lake Latonka Community Center,
Food Drive at County Market, Friday September 14th 11-1,
New Wilmington Summer Movie Series, Saturday September 15th 7-9 at New Wilmington Community Park and
Slippery Rock Village Fest, Saturday September 22nd 10-5 on Main St. Slippery Rock.
If you would like to donate food, donations can be brought to our office located at 123 Industrial Dr. Grove City, PA 16127.
