On Thursdays we offer ideas and ways people can give back in the community. For this week’s Give Back Thursday suggestion, we offer Gift Cards for Pet Rescue. Read on for all of the details.
For many of us, our world revolves around our pet(s). They bring us comfort and an unending supply of love. In turn, we give them safety, security, shelter, warmth, food and plenty of love. Or at least that is what we are supposed to do. For those of us who truly love animals, it is hard to think about the people who do not. Those who abandon a pet like a forgotten coin on the sidewalk. Or, those who mistreat and abuse an animal. It can be unthinkable for those of us who treasure a pet, or animals in general. It can leave you with utter sadness and a feeling of not knowing what to do when you see or think about an animal in need. On a very cold night, do you think about the homeless cats trying to find food and warmth. I know I do.
In this community, we have Grove City Area Pet Rescue. They are an organization that works tirelessly to rescue abandoned and stray animals, especially cats. They also try to get as many cats spayed and neutered as possible. Feral cats can roam the streets and neighborhoods and continue to produce more kittens. This only creates more homeless and hungry cats. Their efforts to educate people on the importance of spaying and neutering is vital.

For this week’s Give Back Thursday suggestion, we offer Gift Cards for Pet Rescue. Grove City Area Pet Rescue is a nonprofit organization focused on helping animals. They provide good homes for healthy cats and they promote responsible pet ownership. With more than 100 cats and kittens currently in their care, this can get quite expensive. The current pandemic has left the pet rescue unable to host their usual fundraisers that help them to continue their important work.
