Give Back Thursday: Make An Ornament
Chamber- Give Back Thursday

Every Thursday we like to offer an idea of how people can give back in the community. This week’s Give Back Thursday idea is to Make An Ornament to surprise someone with! Read on for more details.

Have you ever made a homemade ornament? Most of us have tried our hand at creating an ornament or two. The outcome may not have been as fine as our original vision, but it was the effort that mattered. Many of our homemade ornaments adorned our family trees and were displayed with love and pride. As adults, we may still have our homemade ornaments from our youth, or they may still adorn a family tree.

For this week’s Give Back Thursday we suggest you Make An Ornament to surprise someone with! There are many people who might be separated from loved ones this holiday season. They may feel alone and isolated. A great way to cheer them up would be to surprise them with something made from the heart. Or, you may just want to surprise a friend, neighbor or loved one that you can’t spend time with. Making an ornament is a wonderful way to make someone feel remembered.

You can craft your ornament from paper, cardboard, wood, or whatever catches your fancy. You might also want to purchase some simple Christmas bulbs from the store. These are great for painting and decorating. You can adorn with ribbon, glitter, paint and anything else that fits your vision. The design is up to you! This is your project to spread cheer and the Spirit of Christmas! Just remember, this small gesture can make all the difference in someone’s life at the holidays.
