Support our local businesses as they reopen! The last few months have been a very unusual and often frustrating and emotional time for many as we have had to navigate uncharted waters together through the COVID-19 pandemic, with resulting stay at home orders, and the temporary shut down of many of our businesses. As we begin to move to a “new normal” and enter into the Green Phase of the plan to reopen Pennsylvania, people can start to return to some of their routines with safety precautions in place.
One of the things heard over and over during the last few months is how many people had to forego their hair appointments, and how much they wanted to get their hair cut, colored, and styled. The good news is that these appointments are getting on the books and soon everyone will have the hair appointments they have longed for. Nail appointments are also being scheduled, as many dream of what color they will select when their appointment time arrives.
These are just a few of the examples of businesses that had to temporarily close during the past few months with the pandemic. As these and other businesses are now getting the “green-light” to reopen on June 5th, we need to all remember how important it is to support these small businesses, especially during the first few weeks and months as they reopen. While you might be excited for your hair or nail appointment for appearance reasons, know that these businesses are also excited for your appointments, not just to see their clients they have been missing, but also so that they can function, pay bills and meet payroll.
Now, more than ever, is the time for each of us to do our part to support the businesses that make our communities strong. We need to make appointments, go for dinner, get drinks, go shopping, enjoy entertainment, whatever the case may be, and support our businesses as they reopen and are ready to serve their customers. We also need to be patient. With this reopening also comes a new way of operating, more cleaning and safety requirements that we all face. Be patient as these businesses find their footing and begin this new way of life. Also, do your part to keep everyone safe and follow the CDC guidelines that include wearing a mask, washing your hands frequently and using hand sanitizer, and keeping a safe distance from others.
So, let’s support our local businesses as they reopen! Let’s have the only thing we spread be kindness, support, understanding, compassion and love!
