On Thursdays we offer ways to give back in the community. For this week’s Give Back Thursday, we suggest supporting Curtis Esquibel! Read on for more details.
Our country has been defended by the selfless acts of men and women in uniform. Our Veterans are brave individuals who put service to their country first. Should we not put our Veterans first for their service? All too often there are Veterans in need and those needs go unmet. However, if we know of a Veteran in need, we should jump at the chance to assist them. After all, they did not blink before defending what they knew was important.
For this week’s Give Back Thursday, we suggest supporting Curtis Esquibel.
This is a chance to help a local Veteran in need of our assistance. Curtis is a resident of Mercer, Pa. He is an Air Force Veteran having served his country for 8 years. While in service he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. That brain tumor has resulted in seizures and difficulties with many of life’s tasks. Curtis is in need of a service dog to assist him. Tails of Valor has selected Curtis to receive a service dog. However, there are many costs associated with this wonderful gift.
VFW 519 is sponsoring a Breakfast, Chinese Auction, Bingo fundraiser for Curtis Esquibel. All proceeds will go toward helping bring a service dog home for Curtis. The fundraiser will be held on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at VFW 1470 Brent Road, Volant. Breakfast will be from 9 AM – Noon. Bingo will begin at 1 PM. The cost is $12 per person at the door. In addition, there will be a Chinese Auction.
Please consider attending this fundraiser. We all need to eat breakfast but this affords you the opportunity to do good at the same time. Help VFW 519 and their fellow VFWs as they join together to raise funds for Curtis. A service dog will assist this Veteran with daily life. There is no greater gift that we can give this individual who bravely served his country. Won’t you help provide this much needed assistance to his life?
We hope everyone will consider this week’s Give Back Thursday suggestion to support Curtis Esquibel!
