Every Thursday we take a moment to give an idea of something you can do to give back in the community. This week’s Give Back Thursday idea is to spread seasonal love with pumpkin decorating! Read on for more details.
Every October, we find ourselves filled with the joy of decorating for Fall and enjoying everything the season is celebrated with. This includes pumpkins! As children, we learn the joy of pumpkin carving and decorating. Some of us were better at it than others, but we can all remember the fun we had.
For this week’s Give Back Thursday suggestion, we think Pumpkin Decorating would be perfect! Buy a few extra pumpkins and decorate them by painting or carving, whichever is your preferred method. Next, surprise someone with a decorated pumpkin to enjoy! This could be a neighbor, family member, or friend. Can you think of someone who could use a little cheering up? Is there someone who might enjoy a decorated pumpkin but can’t get out to get one for themselves? Or, maybe they wouldn’t be able to decorate a pumpkin but would love to see one? We think this would be the perfect surprise!
You can leave it for them to discover on their front porch, stoop or steps. Or, maybe you want to deliver it personally and let them know who it is from. Either will work as long as the message is clear, someone is thinking about them! You can enjoy pumpkin decorating and bring a smile to someone else. We think that sounds like a win-win!
