Every Wednesday we offer a suggestion of something to do in the area. For this week’s What To Do Wednesday, we suggest Cornhole & Memorial Park! Read on for more details.
Have you every played cornhole? It may have been referred to as beanbag toss, but it is the same thing. Cornhole is a game where you toss little bags, typically filled with corn, at angled boards with small holes in them. The first team to 21 points is declared the winner. Cornhole has become a new staple at gatherings with many people building their own boards.
For this week’s What To Do Wednesday, we suggest Cornhole & Memorial Park! Did you know that the Grove City Rotary Club installed permanent concrete cornhole boards at Memorial Park? Recently installed, they are open to the community for use. Already the proper distance apart, the boards are ready for play. All you have to do is BYOB – Bring Your Own Bags and a group to play with. This sounds like a great way to spend time having fun.
Located at Memorial Park near the Keystone Pavilion and Rotary Garden, the boards are in a great spot. There is plenty of nearby seating and the restrooms aren’t far away either. Memorial Park is a lovely place to spend time. Having the ability to play cornhole without lugging your own heavy boards is clearly an added bonus!
We suggest you grab a group and head to Memorial Park.
With your own bags in hand, you can start playing right away. The first team to 21 points wins the game, so chose your teammates wisely! If you are not familiar with how to play cornhole, visit this site: https://www.playcornhole.org/pages/rules for official rules.
ADDED FUN: To add more fun to this What To Do Wednesday suggestion of Cornhole & Memorial Park, why not add food! Grab To-Go food from a local restaurant and have a picnic. With Keystone Pavilion so close by, there is plenty of seating for everyone to enjoy. Pavilions are reserved on the weekends from Memorial Day to Labor Day through the Borough of Grove City. So, if you are planning on a weekend, you might want to see if the pavilion is already reserved.
We hope everyone will take time to enjoy this What To Do Wednesday suggestion. If you do, please remember to let the Grove City Rotary Club know how much you appreciate their generous donation for our community’s enjoyment!
