St Patrick’s Day always falls on March 17th. Every year, it is the one day that literally everyone can be Irish, no matter what your lineage. When we think of St Patrick’s Day, we often think of shamrocks and pots of gold and maybe even leprechauns. Many people have traditions that are woven into their celebrations of this holiday. Do you have any traditions tied to your celebration of St Patrick’s Day?

An important part of any holiday celebration is food!

For this week’s What To Do Wednesday, we suggest St Patrick’s Day & Your Food Celebration. A popular tradition tied to St Patrick’s Day is eating corned beef and cabbage. This can be a very time consuming dish to make yourself. Hours are needed to properly cook this tasty meal. Save yourself some time and let someone else do the cooking! A tasty solution to your corned beef and cabbage tradition, is to order a Primanti Bros. famous corned beef sandwich! Their sandwiches include coleslaw which is made from cabbage. This is an easy way to get all of your meal requirements. Add in the french fries, tomatoes and delicious fresh bread, and you’ve got yourself a hand-held treat!

Dessert!

But, you can’t forget about dessert! No holiday celebration involving food is complete without dessert. For our plan, we suggest supporting Shannon’s Kandy Kitchen! Found in downtown Grove City, Shannon’s Kandy Kitchen has delicious chocolate and scrumptious treats. The Shannon family prides themselves on producing quality products that never disappoint. Add the shamrock in their logo to the equation, it seems they are the perfect business to supply your St Patrick’s Day dessert! From chocolate melt-a-ways, to chocolate mint sandwiches, to chocolate covered deliciousness like nuts and creams, there is sure to be something to please everyone. Be sure to pick up your sweet treats during the day in preparation for your after dinner sweet cravings. We know you will not be disappointed.

We hope everyone dresses in their green, orange and white, and celebrates all things Irish! Take advantage of this week’s What To Do Wednesday suggestion of St Patrick’s Day & Your Food Celebration. It will leave your taste buds happy and your belly full. Also, you will find yourself smiling because you just supported two local businesses!
