We all have lines that we follow. Some lines show direction or show territory. To cross the line usually has a negative connotation. However, the Grove City Chamber has been showing people that “mixing” across the lines can be a very positive thing.
For the past few years, the Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce has organized a Multi Chamber Mixer during the summer months. Each year it has incorporated other area Chambers of Commerce. With each passing year more Chambers have been added to the list and the event has grown and grown.
On Wednesday, August 20, 2014 the Multi Chamber Mixer was held at the Grove City Country Club from 5-8 PM. It was a rainy evening outside, but inside the rooms were filled with energy and excitement. This year’s event brought together 8 different Chambers of Commerce that represented 3 different counties. This mixer enabled members from all participating Chambers to network with one another “across the lines” of communities and counties. With over 200 people in attendance, the rooms at the Country Club were filled with people, conversations and plenty of good food. Everywhere that you looked there were people engaging one another, learning about each other and promoting their business, organization or cause.
While we are not advocates for the regionalization or merging of Chambers, we do see the value in networking with others and building relationships. We are proud to offer an event for our members that encourages mixing across the lines.
