Welcome to Wednesday! Each week we offer a Watch Wednesday suggestion of something for your viewing pleasure. Sometimes our suggestions are just for entertainment, sometimes they are educational or informational. This week, it is a little bit of everything!
While some people have had the opportunity to see a Bald Eagle in person, perhaps flying overhead, or nesting nearby, most of us have not had that opportunity. The Bald Eagle is our national bird, a symbol of strength and bravery. The size of a Bald Eagle is certainly magnificent, let alone their grace in flight. However, most of us never get to see this in person, it is usually on television or in movies or gracing the cover of a publication.
For this week’s Watch Wednesday, we suggest clicking on this link: http://aswp.org/pages/hays-nest to view a Live Bald Eagle Cam in Hays, PA which is in the Pittsburgh area. The Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania presents this opportunity for people to see up close and personal the nest of two Bald Eagles, including their two recently hatched Eaglets! When you click on the link, you will arrive on a page that tells you more about when the eggs were laid, when they hatched, and below that information, is where you can press play for the live cam. This is an incredible opportunity to see something we would not normally get to see. You can watch for as long as you would like, and you can return as often as you would like. You never know what you might see when you tune in. Perhaps you will be lucky enough to see both Bald Eagles and the Eaglets, or perhaps you will have to return multiple times to get to see everyone. Regardless, we hope you will take advantage of this opportunity and enjoy it. The nest alone is something to behold!
Viewer caution: This webcam shows live views of Bald Eagles in nature. Some content may not be suitable for all audiences.
