Chamber- Member Feature

Every Monday we like to shine a little spotlight on one of our Chamber Members. This week’s Member Feature shines that spotlight on Danielle Renae Photography! Read the following Q&A to learn more about this local business and Member of our Chamber family!

Please provide a short description of your business and what you do.

I am an authentic family and senior portrait photographer.  It’s my mission to give you printed photos and digitals that you can keep and share for years to come!

What is the story behind your business or how it got started?

I was a mom with a camera. I didn’t have many family pictures from my childhood. It was very important to me to that my kids have lots of photos to look back on so I was constantly taking photos of them and making a yearly album. People started to take notice and wanted to hire me. I figured, why not? I took some classes and watched a ton of tutorials and became even more passionate about sharing my love of photography and printed items with others and it became what it is!

What is the service that you provide that customers use the most?

I recently switched to an all-inclusive service for both my families and seniors and my clients love it!  When you book with me, you have the option of a keepsake box package or an album package. Both allow you to have most, if not all, of your images in print as well as access to an online gallery where you can download and share all the digital images from a session! No more struggling to narrow down your favorites! I still offer canvases, wood prints and large prints for framing to hang on your walls that can be purchased separately.

When is your busiest time / season?

Fall and summer are my busiest times! I try to encourage winter sessions as well. I personally love a snowy winter session so if anyone else likes layering up and playing in the snow, give me a call!!

What is something people would be surprised to know about your business?

Their sessions aren’t going to be stiff and stuffy! I encourage snuggles and laughter during a family session and try to capture a seniors individual personality. I like to collaborate with everyone and we may get in a creek, roll in a field or hike to a waterfall!

Can you tell us about a memorable or favorite customer/client experience?

One of my first sessions was with a senior. They took a leap with me and her photos were fantastic and just a few short years later she called me to do newborn photos of her little boy. I’ve done their photos every year since! The connection and friendships I build are just as important to me as the photographs.

How has COVID-19 affected your business?

Oh COVID… I think we’ve all realized how much more important family and community are. We have to stick together. It can be so discouraging to hear all the doom and gloom stories so we have to make time to be positive. What better way than gathering up your family and going for a little adventure and creating some memories!

COVID hasn’t really affected my business except I am getting even more calls for work. My work is intimate, we really won’t be interacting in person except during your session and when you pick up your order. I am a self run business so I’ve never scheduled more than a handful sessions a week. It was/is the perfect social distancing plan before we had to social distance!

How can the community support you now and going forward?
