Please provide a short description of your business and what you do
Our Hampton Inn & Suites Grove City, PA is a 90 room hotel, owned and operated by American Hospitality Group, from Wadsworth, OH. The Hampton brand is a part of the Hilton family of hotels. We have meeting space for up to 80 people, an indoor heated pool and hot tub, fitness center, and guest laundry. We provide free breakfast in the morning and free shuttle services within 10 miles to all guests.
What is the story behind your business or how it got started?
American Hospitality Group (AHG) opened the Hampton Inn & Suites in 2006 after the success of the Holiday Inn Express, their sister hotel in the same driveway, which opened in 2001. They also built and opened the Candlewood Suites Grove City in 2016. AHG is a family owned and operated company with a portfolio of 8 hotels total.
What is the service that you provide that customers use the most?
Rental of overnight guest rooms. Our meeting rooms are used the most by the local community for bridal/baby showers, rehearsal dinners, banquets, corporate meetings, training, seminars, and many other functions.
When is your busiest season?
May-November is our busy season with college and local events, weddings, shopping, leisure, sports and transient guests needing to stay in our area.
What is something people would be surprised to know about your business?
We are now booking pool parties! The local community is welcome to rent our heated indoor pool/hot tub on Sundays only from Noon-3PM for up to 12 children. The rental fee is $300 and includes the full meeting room as well (other rules and regulations apply). We are excited to offer this unique opportunity, please call us with questions and to check availability.
Can you tell us about a memorable or favorite customer experience?
Just this past September, we partnered with the annual “Witches Night Out” event in Volant to offer discounted rates and free shuttle service to and from the event. We ended up booking over 80 rooms for the event between our 3 hotels and everyone had a great time. Our shuttle driver even dressed up as a witch and had a lot of fun with the guests. We love collaborating with local businesses to support their events.
How has COVID-19 affected your business?
While our hotels have remained open through the COVID-19 pandemic, the demand for guest rooms has significantly dropped. We are currently only filling half of the rooms that we normally do. The hotel industry as a whole reports that it will take until at least 2023 to fully recover. We have followed all of the state/CDC recommended precautions and guidelines to ensure our staff and guests are safe.
How can the community support you now and going forward?
Referrals to friends, family, colleagues, and anyone else needing overnight guest rooms, meeting/party space, and/or shuttle services.
Is there anything else you’d like us to talk about?
We have a black, 14 passenger Mercedes Sprinter shuttle van, with limo seating, that can be used for a wide variety of services. We offer free shuttling to all wedding venues in the surrounding area. We also offer wine & brew tours with discounted room rates that the local community can take advantage of. Call us for safe, fun and stylish transportation options.
