Please provide a short description of your business and what you do.
KrateSoft is a veteran-owned and operated software company that helps businesses become digital forward. We create custom software, websites, and e-commerce sites; provide tech support and IT advisory services for businesses and individuals; and offer a suite of marketing services from branding to social media. Our dreams come true when we get to help another business solve an “unsolvable” problem.
What is the story behind your business?
KrateSoft launched just weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic hit and shelter-at-home orders were enacted across the country. What could have been a nightmare of a time to start a business ended up being the perfect time for us. Our purpose is to help businesses succeed online, so we were uniquely positioned to help others jump into the “new normal” with both feet.
Tell us about a service you provide.
Everyone needs a website and an e-commerce site right now, and we make really affordable, modern sites that are simple for business owners to manage themselves. So it’s custom without the hassle of a webmaster and people love it.
When is your busiest time?
We’ve been busy since the week we started! Time will tell, but we will most likely be busy after major retail seasons, because business owners will have time and cash to invest in developing their business.
What is something people would be surprised to know about your business?
Our long-term goal is to develop software that will send an unmanned rocket into space. Someday we will find a client who needs that done, but until then we’ll keep creating other NASA-quality digital solutions for the local businesses we love.
Can you tell us about a memorable or favorite customer experience?
So far we’ve been super fortunate to have clients whose companies align with our interests and values. It’s always exciting to get a call from a business that makes or does something we love and really believe in!
How is your business responding to COVID-19?
Nearly everything we do is done remotely, so we have a very low-contact setup, from first contact through product delivery. When clients want to meet in person or when we perform on-site IT services, we take the appropriate health precautions and also pay attention to the customer’s level of comfort with proximity and contact.
How can the community support you now and going forward?
Dream big. If you feel like you fight with your business software or your website or e-commerce store too much, you’re probably right! We can make life so much easier for you, and it’s so much more affordable than you think.
And of course, remember us when your business or a business you love needs web or technical support – from installing a network to opening an online shop to creating custom software.
Is there anything else you would like us to talk about?
We’re currently developing four products that will create a total e-commerce solution, including mobile shopping, POS, inventory fulfillment, and product information and sales. The individual products will be intuitive, quick, and affordable for businesses of any size. As a complete system, this will disrupt the e-commerce industry.
