Chamber- Member Feature

Every Monday we shine a spotlight on one of our Chamber Members. This week’s Member Feature shines that spotlight on the Mercer/Grove City KOA! Read the full Q&A here to learn more about this Chamber Member and all they have to offer visitors and locals alike!

Please provide a short description of your business and what you do.

Here at the Mercer/Grove City KOA, we pride ourselves as being the friendliest and most helpful campground around.  We want people to come here and be able to enjoy time around a campfire with their family and friends.

What is the story behind your business?

We are avid RV campers that are passionate about the outdoors and about people.  We saw a way to combine our passions by being able to bring an elevated level of service to people as they enjoy the great outdoors.

What is the service that you provide that customers use the most?

When recruiting and training our team members we go back to our mantra of being the friendliest and most helpful campground around.  This translates into our team members always having a smile on their face and friendly wave.  Whether they are picking up garbage, delivering firewood, cleaning a bathroom, or calling bingo, you’ll always see a smiling face in one of our signature yellow shirts.

When is your busiest time / season?

Summer weekends are our busiest, the campground is bustling with children’s activities, live music, splashing in the pool, and families enjoying their time together.

What is something people would be surprised to know about your business?

Halloween weekends are some of our busiest times of the year as campers decorate their sites, enjoy our haunted hall, and trick or treat around the campground.

How has COVID-19 affected your business?

People have realized the benefits of RV travel and how they are able to enjoy the benefits of being able to see the country while basically having their own home on wheels.  They can control the level of cleanliness and amount of exposure that they are comfortable with.  This year has exposed a lot of new people to the world of RV Travel, which brings it’s own set of challenges, but also exposes our industry to a brand new demographic that previously had not considered it.

How can the community support you now and going forward?

As with anything, word of mouth, and great reviews fuel the hospitality industry.  Come and check us out and if you had a great experience, tell your friends or write us a positive review.  We have RV sites, Kabins and Lodges, as well as tent sites available for all of your camping needs.
