Please provide a short description of your business and what you do.

Davevic Benefit Consultants, Inc. is a family owned full-service benefit consulting agency located in Grove City, PA with currently 15 employees on staff.  Our significant growth and retention over the years is a product of our philosophy of always being on the cutting edge of products, services, and strategy with a keen attention to detail working with our clients.  We are very hands on in helping our clients find solutions not only on a financial basis but also helping them to maintain high levels of efficiency in the way they implement and administer their benefit programs both at the HR and employee level.

What is the story behind your business or how it got started?

Davevic Benefit Consultants, Inc. was founded in 1988 when Bill Gordon purchased the group insurance accounts from Harshaw’s Insurance, Inc.  Bill graduated from Michigan State University and was manager of Harshaw’s Insurance for several years before buying the group insurance business and starting Davevic.  David Gordon joined the firm in June of 1994 after spending several years working for Marine/PNC Bank as a Trust Investment Officer.  Davevic began their growth by always recognizing that they needed to always provide exceptional value to their clients with superior customer service and creative cost saving solutions. The Gordon family was thrilled to bring on a third generation Gordon to the business in January 2020.  Matt spent two years with First National Bank in their Management Training Program and finished his MBA over the past year.

What is something people would be surprised to know about your business?

Davevic Benefit Consultants Inc services over 800 groups ranging from 2 lives to 1500+, and over 3,000 individuals and their families.  We service our clients from our office in Grove City and do not outsource any administration.  The majority of our clients are located in Western PA and Eastern Ohio, but we do also have clients in several other states.

What is the service that you provide that customers use the most?

The #1 service our clients rely on and utilize is that when calling our office you talk to a “live” team member.  Our team at Davevic is available to service and assist with questions ANY member of your organization or family may have. 

How has your business responded to COVID-19? Or, how has COVID-19 affected your business?

Our staff at Davevic have been operating business as usual servicing the many needs of our clients throughout COVID-19.  “We needed to pivot and be a resource of information for COVID-19 for our clients and the community “, stated David Gordon, President of Davevic.  Our team created a COVID-19 page on our website to be a resource for any individual.  On the Davevic COVID-19 page you will find current legislation and regulation information, information on how specific carriers are handling COVID-19, and direct links to government pages like the department of labor or centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.  Throughout COVID-19, we have fielded hundreds of questions from our clients as we had to comply with many new regulations.
